My background: BA Human Movement / Education, teaching Aerobics, Circuit training and specialising in P.E. alongside classroom teaching at primary school, motivated my interest in the physiology of Yoga. An interest in teaching Yoga was ignited whilst attending specialist Yoga classes during pregnancy. That seed grew! I attended a yearlong foundation course with the British Wheel of Yoga in 2009. Immersed in ancient texts covering philosophy, discussing practices carried out around the world for thousands of years, experiencing the power of chanting together, feeling the effects of meditation and my own regular personal practice soon demonstrated the breadth and depth of Yoga. At school I utilised yoga with the children in class. This led to me training 1:1 with a specialist at the forefront of Yoga in schools. The positive effects of Yoga sessions both in school and with friends and family encouraged me to qualify fully as a teacher of Yoga, which I now teach full-time. Since then I've trained further on a variety of courses and with different teachers, including specialising in Yoga for Healthy Backs and Teen Yoga and continue to study...
I’ve realised Yoga is not a luxury but a way of life that promotes harmony… To share with you the wonder, peace and joy I have felt through Yoga classes, would be a great privilege indeed. |
